3 Installation ¶

This chapter walks through a complete install of the OwnSona MCP server on a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 LTS system. It is the canonical “build-from-scratch” procedure; if you have a recent backup, Restore from backup at the end of the chapter is faster.

Everything assumes you can sudo. Commands shown without sudo should run as the ownsona user (created in Create the ownsona user).
