3.1 Architecture summary ¶

OwnSona is exposed at https://<your-host>/mcp. Three processes do the work:

• Apache Tomcat 11 terminates HTTPS and runs the Kiss-framework webapp. The MCP servlet lives at src/main/precompiled/ai/ownsona/MCPServer.java and mounts at /mcp.
• PostgreSQL 16 with the pgvector and pg_trgm extensions stores durable memories.
• OpenAI’s text-embedding-3-small (or your chosen embedding provider) turns memory text into the 1536-dim vectors that drive recall.

A systemd unit (ownsona.service) supervises Tomcat. A timer-driven ownsona-backup.service writes daily backups to S3 via s3fs.
